World Trade Agenda Consultants is increasingly engaged in helping the governments and delegations of developing countries understand and deal with their WTO obligations.

Although we do not offer legal advice, we help governments seize the opportunities provided by WTO negotiations and disciplines to provide a healthy domestic business and investment climate. We also prepare briefings on current negotiating issues in the WTO, advise on the processes of consultation and negotiation in Geneva and provide networking advice.

A focus of recent work has been encouraging and aiding the involvement of the private sector in developing countries in WTO-related policy formulation and trade negotiations. Examples include

A project, funded by the International Finance Corporation (World Bank), to assist companies in Cambodia to take advantage of the country's then upcoming accession to the WTO.

An Asian Development Bank funded project to provide trade reform advice to the Government of Laos to improve the business environment for SMEs and inward investors.

A short conceptual study on trade logistics challenges in the Eastern Caribbean islands provided through the Agency for Trade Information and Cooperation (AITIC)

A review of technical assistance strategies relating to trade facilitation in the Latin America and Caribbean region, also under the auspices of AITIC.

Research and drafting of a booklet on trade strategies and opportunities aimed at the private sector in Liberia, at the request of the International Trade Centre.
